I had an ultrasound yesterday for gender determination, and we found out that I’m having another little boy. Honestly, I was a tad disappointed because everybody wanted me to have a daughter; but who really cares about what other people want, not me! So, there I’m happy. Another ten or so years of buying blue shirts, denims, sneakers, toy cars and robots. But I don’t mind. I already have about 9 years experience raising a little boy, so this isn’t going to be new to me.

It was a great experience watching in real time how he moves – we even saw his mouth open as if he was yawning. Although he looks like a monkey-alien at this point, I know he’s going to look like his older brother. The sperm donor and I have always been mistaken for siblings because we look so much alike, so there won’t be any surprises when it comes to our new baby’s appearance. For preggos out there, I recommend having a 4D ultrasound. I had mine at In My Womb in SM Megamall, and Dr. Cacas is just wonderful. She knew instantly what the gender what, but patiently went through the procedure until it was time for the big reveal.

My big boy kept asking if the baby was a boy and a girl, and when we were told, he kept wanting to see where the penis is. He was talking to his dad on the phone and probably ran up my phone bill again, but who cares – he was so excited. He’s always wanted a baby brother to play with, and his dad’s desire for a daughter probably just rubbed off on him.

All in all, I feel the same. Nothing’s changed, except now I know to shop for a baby gorilla, I mean boy. I’m excited about the shopping part, and can’t wait to start as soon as I get my pay check at the end of the month. Best to start buying all the expensive items than wait around until the bills start pouring in.
